Each year, more than 2.25 million globetrotters come to Alaska. Across the purchasing lifecycle - interest, researching, booking, experiencing - the majority of them find it difficult to arrange unified, authentic Alaskan experiences. What the existing digital eCommerce platforms provide is disparate considering they either sell local tours, activities or merchandise/gifts/souvenirs. The bleak presence of local businesses fail to capture an accurate picture of local Alaska.
Kicking the work off, we incorporated insights from Voyij's extensive internal research. We combined them with our eCommerce expertise to identify the most critical modules of the project: Activities, Products and Blogs acting as a reference guide.
We configured and customized Yo!Kart, our flagship multivendor eCommerce solution, to bring essential functionalities to the fore. Yo!Kart accelerated the onboarding of the features related to the products module and the admin section.
The Activities module put forward a challenge to handle the "activities/experiences" in the same vein as physical products (Merchandise / Gifts / Souvenirs).

To establish a direct path between travellers expectations and activities discovery, we zeroed down the categories and mapped them with respective sub-categories cluster.

Tapping the substantial knowledge and experience of Voyij's experts, we listed down the crucial functionalities required to help travellers access the information they needed to move down the conversion funnel fluidly and quickly.
We extensively customized Yo!Kart and employed agile product-development cycles and delivery systems to power the prioritized use cases and tied them all together in the form of clickable prototypes. We subjected the prototypes to iteration cycles based upon the feedback and engineered a stable, secure activities module.
